perpetual motion machine

I once knew a guy he was a little... eccentric.
Every once in a while we would be hanging out and he would randomly go on and on and on about the lizard-people ruling the earth and the fact that Agartha is real and it's a whole world INSIDE of the Earth.
But the Earth was also flat. And NASA was lying to us. And the moon wasn't real.
Let me stress - 99% of the time he was a great guy, smart as hell.
1% of the time he just needed to get things off his chest.
Anyway - at one point he mentions (almost as a throwaway comment) that he had invented a perpetual motion machine. So a machine that keeps working without an external energy source.
If you paid attention in physics class you know that's not actually a thing. It breaks the first two laws of thermodynamics. And those are the kinds of laws you can't really break, you know?
This did not stop him though, because he explained to me in detail how it worked. I didn't understand any of it because I never paid attention in physics class. He closed off his explanation by saying that he could never bring the idea to market because the Rothschild cartel had 'warned him' to never speak about this in a public setting.
(If he was actually right and you're from the Illuminati reading this, I just want you to know that I will take this secret to the grave with me. No need to make me have an "accident" or something.)
So the perpetual motion thing is not real in any field. But people pretend like it is.
Companies having the same team of staff for 10 years.
Same website for 10 years.
Same ads for 10 years.
Before the Internet you could get away with that. You could come up with a good ad and just run it unchanged for YEARS. And it would keep bringing in leads like clockwork.
But the Internet changed that. And social media absolutely obliterated that idea.
These days the algorithm always craves NEW stuff. More variations. More different angles. More of everything.
Run the same ad for 2 months and it starts running out of steam real quick. Lead cost rises, quality score tanks, it's a mess.
Funnily enough - the closest thing to a 'perpetual motion machine' in marketing is your Google Business Profile.
If you can rank that in the top 3 the leads keep coming like clockwork. And it's really hard for a competitor to get you out of the top 3 as well. Actually becomes harder every month that you're up there.
Maybe because the lizard people are conspiring against everyone below the top three. That's a possible explanation.
Or because the good effects compound over time and you get entrenched in that position.
It's one of those two. Guess we'll never know which one.
But if you're planning on doing something about your GBP - there is no better time than the present. Get you a perpetual motion marketing machine working for you.
