Little Hinges Swing Big Doors

Had something weird happen to me this week, thought I’d share it as it’ll probably help you.

So, I was working on getting my business in the top 3 in Google.

And just for the record - if you run a local business this is a cheatcode.

You get more website visits, more calls, more clients, all because people find you on Google.

But everything else starts working better too! Because you ranking high and showing up consistently builds trust.

It's not really a conscious process at all. It just kinda... builds in the minds of clients.

Can't recommend it enough. It's like steroids for your business but without the downsides like your heart exploding when you hit 46.

Anyway - one of the steps in this process is making sure certain external websites link to YOUR website. Can't just be any website, needs to be a trusted source in the eyes of Google.

So, I go through the checklist of 47 high trust, high juice website we use to link back to our clients.

Want to know two weird ones?

BMW and Audi.

Not the actual car websites. The directory that handles their navigational software.

Apparently, Google reasons: 'if the BMW 7 series know where your biz is... it's a real business'. I know right, car navigational software helping a marketing company, seems weird.

It makes sense and still weird at the same time. Because you'd never think of this.

(At least I wouldn't.)

But it made a huge difference in my ranking and for my clients.

Little hinges really do swing big doors.
